The Lower Swatara Fire Department’s new facility is located at 1350 Fulling Mill Road in Middletown, Pennsylvania.
The 23,000 square foot facility contains a six-bay apparatus area, offices, live in housing for emergency personnel, and a training room. The training room also serves as a multipurpose room for a variety of functions.
In the event of a natural disaster, the facility was designed to be used as a refuge and includes a full-service kitchen and showers.
The structure was constructed with reinforced concrete split face block with arched engine bay doors. Pilasters and detailing give the building its traditional style.
