The Shippensburg Emergency Services Building combines the services of the Vigilant Hose Company No. 1 (VHC) and Shippensburg Area Emergency Medical Services. The 31,000 square feet facility contains separate offices and living areas for the two organizations on two floors. In addition, the facility will contain 10 fire apparatus bays and seven EMS bays, as well as gear areas and storage.
Living areas includes separate kitchen and bunk rooms. VHC will have eight private dormitory style rooms for live-in members. Shared facilities include a 1,100 square foot training room, fitness room, and study area.
The facility is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) registered seeking silver certification.
