The 300-seat church replaces the existing 124-year-old facility on the Sacred Heart of Jesus campus. Placement of the new facility is on an east-west axis adjacent to the existing parish center.
While needing to triple the size of the nave and provide much needed amenities, the parish did not want to lose the intimacy and detailing of the current facility. The new church captures the essence of the existing facility with the brownstone entrance, reuse of the existing stain glass windows, detailing of the sanctuary, placement of the tabernacle, inclusion of a choir loft, and replication of the exposed wood trusses.
