SGS Architects Engineers, Inc. was retained by the City of Harrisburg for the design of a police substation in the Allison Hill section of the city.
The extremely tight site conditions warranted the use of a modular construction process. The 1,600 square foot single story facility was constructed off-site as four modules at NRB, New Holland, Pennsylvania.
The modules were completely finished off-site including doors, windows, painting, cabinetry, interior and exterior finishes, and utilities.
The erection was completed in one day, at which time the city had a secured facility.
The building includes a public area with a meeting room, squad room, locker room, office, and break room.
The building was dedicated in 2020.
